Random thoughts

Went to the foot doc, x-rays looked good (yay!) so he gave me a shot of cortizone through the top of my foot as an anti-inflammatory. Hurt like a bitch but then it was over. We’ll see how it feels during my 8-miler on Saturday.

In other thoughts, does anyone watch Millionaire Matchmaker? Have to admit I’m a sucker for that show…and the Bachelor. Hmm, does that mean anything? So I was watching last night and I just don’t get how some of these women are excited to go out with these really not cute guys. I’ve seen only a handful of attractive men on there (Nick from episode 1 this season, if you’re reading this contact me!!) but for the most part I just don’t see it. Granted I’m sure they don’t last beyond the date but still. Anyway, this guy Matteo is super Christian (he said it was his #1 priority in finding someone) yet chose a Jewish girl (knowing they were of a different faith). They debated on the first date and clearly decided it wouldn’t work. In my past relationship we were different religions and while it did come up quite a bit, it wasn’t going to end us, although we did break up so who knows. Would a different faith be a deal breaker for you?

Just had a great lunch from a salad bar, but cost a fortune. 18 bucks. Seriously NYC, wtf?

I married a catholic guy, and I was (gasp) NOT catholic. It didn’t bother me, it didn’t seem to bother him, but… his mother, well, she had a totally different take on it. I was SATAN, and I had STOLEN her precious baby from the arms of JESUS. Never mind that her baby was 32 when we got married and hadn’t been to church in 8 years… We’ve worked all that out though. It only took 3 grandkids. Well, 12 years, 800 miles between us, and 3 grandkids.

Great news that there is anything major going on with your foot!

Faith isn’t a big deal to me. Never been a deal breaker.

Both my fiancé and I are non-practicing catholics and we will be married by an Anglican priest in May. Religion isn’t really a big issue in our relationship, but my parents were a slightly upset when they found out an Anglican priest was gonna perform our vows… I don’t think it really matters where your faith lays, as long as you can connect and agree to disagree when it comes to religion. After all, isn’t the whole purpose of religion to get you thinking about things anyway?

I watch Millionaire Matchmaker too. 🙂 I saw that one and while I don’t think religion is a deal breaker, the fact that she wants to raise her children Jewish and him Christian is a big deal. I didn’t see that either of them wanted to compromise so to me they were at an impasse.

I’m a huge MM fan…as much as I want to, I can’t look away. Same with overpriced salad bars: taste SO much better when somebody else tosses it, yet costs SO much more. Love your blog.
