Leaving 2009 Behind

While most people set into the new year resolution-ready, I did not. Probably because I was too busy getting on a plane to New Orleans with C after 2 hours of sleep, but that’s a whole other post.  Now that I’m an entire month into 2010, I’ve realized that any goals I would’ve set for myself I’m on my way to achieving and didn’t even realize it. I’m happily saying “Peace Out” to 2009, my year of sadness, bitterness, trying to reinvent myself, being unhealthy in my quest to look good, and slowly alienating some of the closest people I have in my life. I kept telling myself through the year that it was finally time to move on and be happy but somehow starting a new year actually pushed me to do it (and I didn’t even try!). So now looking to the year that’s ahead of me, and also soon to be my 27th birthday, I see a half-marathoner, a girl who doesn’t need to dwell on the past, thinks maybe things do happen for a reason, has realized the kick-ass friends she has in her life, the pretty freakin awesome family by her side, and is just plain old, sunshine-loving happy.
